I felt sorry for the old man, but the Thalmor couldn't be allowed to destroy Skyrim. We did what had to be done. If only he hadn't returned that axe.

Very happy with Synergy ENB interior shots at this point. Probably the best ENB I've ever used. Still had to post process this one a lot to fix some level problems but I love it. Highly recommend you guys try it out - [link]

Well I've never done the Stormcloak storyline so I thought it would be interesting. Definitely enjoyed the Assault on Whiterun with the catapults although the custom weather effect seemed to strain my system and it crashed several times.

The Thalmor are behind the Civil War, the goal of it is to weaken the Empire. I don't think the Emperor wanted to outlaw the worship of Talos, but he had little choice, if the Emperor hadn't of signed that treaty, the Empire would have been destroyed along with Skyrim. The Thalmor want to destroy the Empire and eradicate Talos worship because their holding on to an ancient grudge, along time ago Tiber prevented the ancient Dominion from conquering Tamriel, and so they developed a hatred to the Septim Dynasty, and when he became the 9th divine, that angered them even more. They made the Empire ban his worship because they hate Talos. If there is to be victory against the Dominion, the Empire needs to stand together, Ulfric's rebellion is only weakening the Empire more, and also leaves Skyrim open for the Dominion to invade if he kicks them out.

Actually, there is a theory in one of the books in Skyrim that says the Thalmor were near to defeat themselves, they bluffed and the Emperor folded. The Thalmor are not as powerful as they seem, if the other races would help the Thalmor would get frog stomped. Besides, You're dragon born, call in your two pet dragons and EAT the Thalmor rulers then crap their bones over Sommerset isles as you fly home.

Or, y'know, show the freakin' book to the Jarl's that Ulfric himself is being puppeted.

Yeah, I was also angry that he didn't decide to join Ulfric. A Nord can side with the Stormcloaks or deside not to do so, but siding with the empire and fighting against your own "brothers" means betrayal to your kin and that's outrageous imo. That's why I have no respect for the imperials and espacially no respect for Nords who fight for the imperials...

You do realize the Thalmor are the ones who are behind the war, just as the Empire is a puppet, so is Ulfric. While they had Ulfric as a prisoner, they realized he would make a great asset, so they let him go and start this rebellion of his, which is what they wanted. Doesn't matter who you side with, in the end it's the Thalmor who are the bad guys. Besides if the Emperor hadn't of signed that peace treaty, as Hadvar said the Thalmor would have destroyed the Empire, and where would Skyrim be. If there is to be victory against the Dominion, the Empire needs to stand together.

Yeah, I know that Ulfric is kind of a puppet. I mean, they would even aid ulfric if it helps them against the empire, as you can read in those thalmor documents. But that's an other and bigger story... I was talking about the simple act of fighting for "foreign" interests and against your own kin. Maybe the empire should act different, I know the Thalmor basically have their eyes everywhere, but the empire is still very oppressive, even though they need Skyrim just as Skyrim needs them against the dominion.

I want to know how Talos is reacting to all of this, I know he doesn't want to see the Empire which he created and stood for a long time be destroyed, but I'm also sure he doesn't want to see the Empire fight amongst themselves. The only reason I joined the Stormcloaks when I first played because I wanted to kill that bitch captain who ordered my execution. The Stormcloaks are only weakening the Empire more, and separating Skyrim from the Empire, like I said I don't think that's what Talos would want.
