I redid my Dunmer because, well you couldn't see his ears and he didn't look elfy enough. Here he is in his hairy chest glory... i'm not sure if a mod did that or whether Dunmer are just hairy elves... lore masters please feel free to chime in. LOL
Anyway Xanthar Quill, as I have called him, probably took up magic purely to learn a spell to keep his hair looking that good at all times.
Ethereal Elven Overhaul and Ultimate HD Fire Spells contributed to this shot and used some post process to add a purple tint over the whole image.
Enjoy ... or not. But come on, he's dying for attention.
I'm wondering if Skyrim didn't change how the Dunmer looked. Like added in a prominent brow. Because all the pictures I've seen, at least on dA, they have prominent brows and this is a screenshot, is it not?
I don't have Skyrim yet(I'm too much of a cheapskate, and I'm waiting for a version with all the add one included. That's what I got with Oblivion) and I have two Dunmer characters in Oblivion; male and female. And I've heard complaints on dA that they wish the female Dunmers could look softer in the face.
I made my female character with soft features. She's absolutely gorgeous too. And my male character is strikingly handsome. No extreme brow or sharp cheekbones. Is customization on your character in the beginning of the game just too much of a bother for people or did Skyrim REALLY change how the Dunmers look and made it to where the brow and cheekbones are absolute?
Yes it's a screenshot, though it's also after I installed Ethereal Elven Overhaul and redid my character. As to your other questions regarding the differences between Oblivion and Skyrim Dunmer I really don't pay enough attention to such things. I've never even made a Dunmer before so maybe someone else can answer your question.
The Dunmer were always supposed to have eyebrow ridges and sharp-bones features. It's been part of the lore since Morrowind, Oblivion just had a terrible facegen all around. Lore-wise, Skyrim is much more friendly to the elven, mortal and beast races than Oblivion.
Why does an elf have a hairy chest?? -_^?? That aside, first stupidly (that's a complimentary adjective) attractive Dunmer male I've seen in Skyrim. Seriously. Not ta say they aren't ever 'badass' looking, but this is the first equal parts attractive as he is badass looking Dunmer male I've seen. *applauds* Bravo~
Male elves have the same body hair as male humans in TES, whether Altmer, Dunmer, or Bosmer. Granted, lore-wise, that would vary from individual to individual, but the character models at least parallel greatly. This isn't Middle Earth.
You mean this isn't any other lore ever. Haha. TES is the first universe I've seen or heard of where Elves have hair anywhere else other than their head.
